At the center of the enchanting rolling hills, lived a boy named Shepherd. His being was untarnished, simple, and honest. His primary duty was essentially to care for his flock of rams.
Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the gales through the solo tree on the peak were his only companions. Day upon day, looking out for his charges inculcated in him a notion of quiet fulfillment.
But, there were at times moments of isolation, when the shepherd boy would pine for fellowship. During one such occasion out of sheer boredom, the shepherd boy conceived a naughty scheme.

One day he dashed into the village yelling website “Wolf! A wolf is that has taken my sheep!” The terrified villagers sprinted up the hills for rescue but discovered no beast.
The boy chuckled at the confusion on their faces. This trick continued for a few more days. But, one noon, a real wolf actually charge at the flock. The shepherd boy ran for aid shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the boy struggled against the wolf but could rescue only few of his flock. Heartbroken, he went back to the town only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the repercussions of dishonesty.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the significance of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of crying wolf. Moreover, it highlights how trust once lost, is tough to regain. It's a story as relevant today as it was then.
